Brooklyn meets Japan in Shimokitazawa, an artists' enclave in Tokyo home to quirky vintage shops, low-key LP bars, and probably also some actual expats from Brooklyn.
One night, my partner and I went down this alley, found a bar, and befriended the owners. They gave us too much to drink and my partner clogged their bathroom sink. I took this photo late at night, after I'd put him in bed and returned for some forgotten umbrellas.
